Pamela Day Gallery
My work has been evolving from two-dimensional and low relief, through high relief to completely three-dimensional sculptures. All being one-of-kind works. More often than not they involve birds - especially crow-like winged creatures. If the work does include birds their relationship to humans is considered, or their humanistic qualities are emphasized. Some works symbolically consider the environment. Personal expression gives me license to interpret birds and humans a bit more abstractly - from color, to texture to form. This is evident in throughout my development, whether as a painter using gouache watercolor medium, clay with glazes, or clay with colored pencil. I'm conscious of my compositions in all aspects of my work - creating depth, movement, balance and color contrast that help emphasize the relationships within each piece.
